All students in this year have a careers interview with a local employer who offers advice and guidance through mock interviews.

Opt in interviews are available with an independent careers advisor offering impartial advice leading to individual action plans.

Students receive impartial advice on Post-16 pathways, options and academic and career choices. All students work with a team of experienced staff to ensure that correct BTEC, and A level applications are made.

Throughout key stage 3, 4 and 5 students are made aware of different career choices and are given opportunities to work with different companies, agencies, employers and higher education providers. Students are taught and encouraged to find out information on relevant qualifications, training and courses required and pathways needed for future courses.

The use of IndiGo, Make the Grade and Aspire-igen enables all students to build a career profile. Sessions are monitored through student voice, staff impact forms and through company feedback. Our high university, employment and apprenticeship take up is testament to the careers advice and guidance given.

Careers advice and guidance is reviewed annually and the new careers calendar is set up to address the needs of the students. Our careers programme is annually audited against the Gatsby 8 benchmark, the next review date of the information published is September 2019.
